Reading For The Love Of It Conference
Common Deer Press was pleased to participate in this year’s Reading For The Love Of It Conference. This literacy conference happens annually in Toronto, Ontario. If you happened to be at the conference, at the Sheraton Centre, hopefully you spotted Common Deer Press at the University of Toronto Distributor’s booth.

Authors and Books at Reading For The Love Of It
We also were please to have a few Common Deer Press authors, Susan Currie and Caroline Fernandez available for book signings during the event. Susan was representing her YA novel Iz the Apocalypse (and its sequel Fierce Voice coming soon!), while Caroline was promoting her picture book series The Adventures of Grandmasaurus as well as the Asha and Baz chapter books.
Both authors had positive experiences talking with conference attendees and book colleagues.
Other Common Deer Press books on display included:
• The Great And The Small by A. T. Balsara
• Lucy and Dee by Kirsten Marion
• The Math Kids by David Cole and Shannon O’Toole
The conference was well attended by librarians, educators, and literacy experts. Sessions and keynotes addressed how to inspire and create engaging literacy opportunities for readers. And, of course, the successes and challenges of literacy in the modern world.

The marketplace was full of bookish booths. Publishers, distributors, authors, and literacy experts were on hand to showcase their latest reads (often with special event discounts!).
